The Afghan Hound is the stupidest dog

According to Stanley Coren, a leading expert on dogs, dogs have three kinds of intelligence:

First: learning intelligence, the ability of dogs to identify and solve problems through learning;

II: Instinct;

Third: The ability to work and obey is related to the breed of dog and natural genetic factors. For example, many hounds and shepherds are born with a strong ability to obey their owners’ commands and work with others.

Stanley Coren ranked the 80 most common dog breeds in the world based on how quickly dogs learn and accept new commands and how well they obey one muzzle command after extensive research studies, selecting the smartest dogs, the best working dogs, the average working dogs, and the least workable dogs. Among the most awkward dogs were 1. it took more than 80 repetitions to learn a command and 2. 25% of the time they could obey the command first.

In order for these dogs to remember the command, they usually have to practice more after learning it hundreds of times, or they will forget that they did not learn the action. Even when the habit is formed, they still don’t respond to their owner’s commands every time. The probability of responding the first time is 25%. Sometimes they will turn their head away from the master, for example by deliberately ignoring the master, or deliberately challenging the master’s authority. When they do respond to commands, their actions are usually slow and uncertain, or they are reluctant. Some dogs must wear a collar before they will obey. Once they take the collar off, they are not allowed to be unruly. The average trainer may not be able to control how these dogs behave.
